Needs Assessment

Fall 2006

In Needs Assessment, taught by John Wedman, Ph.D., we learned to identify performance problems and determine how to best intervene. Using the Performance Pyramid as our foundation, we developed proficiency in using needs assessment methods customized to each individual case.

Final Project

My final project was a Needs Assessment Report (PDF).

Primary data was collected from interviews, surveys and observations. Two one-on-one interviews were conducted using a detailed 32-question protocol.

Nine participants were invited to take a seven-question online survey; six responses were returned.

Two one-hour observations were conducted using a two-page observation guide.

Artifacts

Artifacts include the Final Project Plan (PDF) and a screen shot of the actual survey given to the bookstore workers, shown at right. I coded the survey in PHP.
